The Transcript For This Page

PANEL ONE (upper lefthand quarter of page)

Almost exactly the same panel as the previous operating room
scene, except that Tarrant, sitting on the table with a towel over his
naughty bits, is pink and healthy-looking, and the doctors and nurses
are all standing up around him. The place is bright and clean.

Narrative (Tarrant): 'On Earth's Moon, science managed to reverse much
of what had been done to me. The process is ongoing.'

----------------------------------------------------------------------

PANEL TWO (upper righthand quarter of page)

Still sitting on the table, he has one arm lifted, with a shapely
nurse sitting on the palm of his hand.

Narrative (Tarrant): 'I still had Oplyte strength, and, in large
measure, had regained my youth. They tell me I may never again lose
it.'
----------------------------------------------------------------------

PANEL THREE (lower lefthand quarter of page)

Back to the Captain's quarters. Two-shot, Tarrant and Krumm. Both
men face right (toward an unseen Echeverria-Estrella).

Tarrant: 'Now I race ships and run errands -- here, I am a spy among
the Baker's crew -- serving as envoy between the Wheelers.'

Krumm: 'Decorated, I might add, by both polities, for his many daring
exploits.'
----------------------------------------------------------------------

PANEL FOUR (lower right quarter of page)

Two-shot, Tarrant and Echeverria-Estrella, nose-to-nose, the
latter looking somewhat chagrined.

Tarrant: 'Be that as it may, Captain Echeverria-Estrella, are there
any other impertinent questions you would care to ask me?'

Echeverria-Estrella: 'Only whether we might start over again, and
perhaps be friends.'

PANEL FIVE

Closeup of Echeverria-Estrella, slightly toward the right of the
panel. Tarrant is seen as a very minimal profile at the left edge.

Echeverria-Estrella: 'Mr. Tarrant, I apologize for questioning your
bona fides -- I was obligated: we take grave risks together.'

Tarrant: 'Indeed, we do, sir.'

----------------------------------------------------------------------

PANEL SIX

Tarrant stands. So does Echeverria-Estrella.

Tarrant: 'Your pardon, friends, I must see to the repair of my ship.'

Echeverria-Estrella: 'We all have much to do before we reach further
into Jendyne space.'
