The Transcript For This Page
PANELS 1-3 are a row of square panels.
In P1, medium close-up of Bretta, looking taken aback.
In P2, medium close-up of Tarrant, glancing intently towards Bretta, holding his flattened palm downward.
In P3, Bretta turns away from Tarrant, but glances back at him over her shoulder.
PANEL FOUR –middle third
The six other Islay children stand in a row like stairsteps to be
introduced to Krumm and Demondion-Echeverria (who are at the left,
near the tallest child). Bretta is at the other side.
The kids are all dressed more or less conventionally in what looks
like 18th century clothing, except that the elder of the two boys
wears long pants and the other wears shorts.
'Heartbreaking' Phoebe is a sweet, demure girl of sixteen. But
keep in mind that she's the one Bretta will hand off to. If you watch
_House_, make her look like the girl called '13'.
Lia, with a couple of books tucked under her arm, is a brilliant
scholar and wonder-child at fourteen. These people don't wear glasses.
Lia, named for the Ceo who was once a servant of the Islays, is no
ugly duckling.
Lorrie is a charming little damsel of twelve, curtseying. On her
shoulder is a foot-high, gray-plumaged bird -- except that it has
three spindly legs, three wings folded about its body, three eyes, and
its three-lobed beak grows straight out of the top of its head.
Glynna is a child of ten, but she has scissors at her belt, and a
big wooden spoon in one hand. She looks disgruntled to have been
interrupted in her work.
Arran, a son for his father at long last, is now some eight years
old. He has a finger in his collar, pulling at it uncomfortably.
Sedgeley is a toddler of four. He's distracted by a pet triskel,
has turned from the end of the line, and is bending down to play with
it.
All of these kids except Sedgeley are wearing thrustibles.
Bretta: 'Let me introduce you to my brothers and sisters: Phoebe, Lia,
Lorrie, Glynna, Arran, and -- stand up and pay attention, please,
Sedgeley.'

PANEL FIVE
Krumm bends down to look at Sedgeley closely. The kid looks
overwhelmed by the giant.
Krumm: 'Named after your mother's uncle. Does that mean she forgave
him for -- '
Bretta: 'Apparently so. He was just here last month to visit.'

PANEL SIX
Krumm and Bretta. On her walk with Phoebus, she should be fully
equipped, with dual thrustibles, crossbow and quarrels. Just now, as
she talks, she indicates Tarrant.
Krumm: 'Can Phoebe take the Ambassador in and make him comfortable?
And my ... er ... manservant, Tarrant, as well? We need to talk.'
Bretta: 'Certainly -- Phoebe, take the Ambassador to the formal
parlor. See that he has tea. And show this, er, gentlemen to the
pantry.'
