What Comes Next

The War is Over. We Won.

The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?

These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.

After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!

The Transcript For This Page

Panel 1
Wide panel. Logo will run across the top of the page this time.

We are back at the Ceres Spaceport Terminal. Guy is preparing to leave, and an informal farewell committee is there to see him off: Reggie, Bert, Ernie, Babbette the Younger (wearing her ‘Agent’ cap), Lorna, also Emily Rose, her younger brother Billy and his friend Wally. Fiorella will also show up but she’s not in the initial shot. Reggie is dressed as he was during the last scene, and is holding out a white gift box. The box is about 60cm long, a bit less than 30cm wide and 6cm thick.

Caption: As Guy Caillard departs for Terra, an informal farewell committee is on hand to see him off.

Reggie: Before you go, Special Agent Caillard, we wish to offer you a token of our esteem and appreciation.

Panel 2

Medium shot of Reggie. He is opening the box with a flourish, revealing is contents – a long, black, silken triangular flag. The hoist end is emblazoned with a golden crown. Extending towards the fly end, in gold letters of decreasing size, are the words ‘World Ceres.’

Reggie: We give you our national flag, the World Ceres Pennant.

Panel 3
Medium shot of Guy, now holding the opened box and looking at the gift warmly. He is visibly moved. We see a partial silhouette of Fiorella, standing behind him.

Guy: Thank you, Your Majesty. I am honored and shall treasure your gracious gift always.

Guy (2): I …

Panel 4

Close 2-shot of Guy and Fiorella. She has laid a hand on his shoulder to get his attention, and he turns to look at her in surprise. (She is dressed in Cererean clothes, and has a pistol on her hip, but we won’t see all of that until the last panel.

Guy: … I …
Panel 5
Fiorella embraces Guy, kissing him passionately.

No dialog.

Panel 6
Maintain close-up. They break the kiss, and Fiorella speaks.

Fiorella: Come back.

Panel 7
Wide shot. As Guy looks on slack-jawed, and everyone else looks on appreciatively, Fiorella strides away with all the ease of a life-long Cererean.

Announcer (electronic): This is your final boarding call for Burner 23 bound for Terra. Final boarding call.

Caption: Not the end.
