PANEL ONE (upper lefthand quarter of page)
Within its natural protective #-field, Bretta, astride her
_lamina_, and surrounded by the others, adjusts one of the two
thrustibles she's wearing. Her crossbow lies across her lap.
She's looking 'down' at the other Jendyne man-of-war, from high
'above', into an ocean of tachyon sails.
Bretta: ''_Compluvium Deus Est_', is it, Rakush? Lousy name to give a
ship. Bad Latin for 'God is the Core' -- or 'The Core is God' -- I was
never very good with Latin grammar.'

PANEL TWO (upper righthand quarter of page)
Now she's hanging in space to one side, still high above the ship,
but where it's easy to see the maindeck and the command decks,
swarming with enemy sailors and marines.
She holds up a quarrel and slides a tiny switch along its shaft.
The quarrel glows as a #-field forms around it.
Bretta: 'An ordinary quarrel would disintegrate in the ship's
#-field.'
Bretta: 'This power supply won't last long -- but it'll last long
_enough_.'

PANEL THREE (lower lefthand quarter of page)
View from behind and to the left side of Bretta. She's hunched
over her crossbow, pulling the trigger. We can see the glowing
quarrel, already several feet away.
Between the fingers of her left (supporting) hand hangs another
quarrel, ready for use.
Hundreds of feet distant, we can see the Jendyne warship.
Bretta: 'Hot, straight, and true!'

PANEL FOUR (lower right quarter of page)
On the command deck, beside the binnacle and steerng ball, with
the sails overhead, the enemy captain claps both hands to his face.
Between them, Bretta's quarrel protrudes from the socket of his ruined
eye.
A trickle of blood runs between his fingers.
Beside him, another officer collapses as he clutches at a quarrel
in his throat.
Captain: '_Augh!_'
Other officer: 'Erkkkk!'
Bretta (from out of panel): 'And the first officer, as well, before
they can get organized.'
