Strip 295 -- First Seen: 2009-10-30
Escape From Terra is updated with new pages every Monday through Friday.

QV on a short break

QUANTUM VIVE is taking a break for a few weeks, as we prepare for Part 2 of the Novo Palermo story, and also for a Kickstarter campaign for Part 1, which will start in September.

In the meantime, Not-Safe.Space will continue, as a murder mystery begins and the relationship between Eithne and Diana develops in unexpected directions.

Not-Safe.Space is a NSFW strip but more than half the pages are SFW so I've set those to *not* require a Patreon membership. Readers should be able to follow the story without seeing the NSFW pages. If I've done this right.

Kickstarter successful and closed

The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.

Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.

(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Thanks to all for supporting this Kickstarter!

The Transcript For This Page

Panel 1
Re-stablish the scene: In the station galley, Reggie is perched on a barstool as Fantasy Fiorella stands nearby.

Reggie: There is still something we are overlooking.

Reggie: Have you, O Great and Mighty Oz of the subconscious, got anything for me?

Fiorella: Sort of...

Panel 2
Fiorella starts to move a way from Reggie, towards the open central part of the galley.

Fiorella: The subconscious mind is more about metaphor, symbolism, emotions, and impressions.

Fiorella: For some reason, I feel I need to show you this.

Panel 3
Fiorella doing a 'Wonder Woman' spin (c.f. 1980s television show)

No dialog

Panel 4
Fiorella stops spinning, is now clad in some sort of high priestess get-up. Her face has heavy make up, and mystic runes are painted on her arms, shoulders, upper chest, and exposed parts of her breasts (remember we have to keep this PG-13). Keep the background indistinct.

Fiorella: Huh. How cliché.

Panel 5
Scene shifts. Now they are in some sort of temple (a mix of ancient Greek, Roman styles). Fiorella is seated on a high-seated, 3-legged chair positioned over an opening in the floor. Whispy vapors are swirling out of the hole and around her feet. Reggie is also in the frame, standing a bit more than two meters from her, seen from behind.

Reggie: This all looks so familiar. I know I've been here before.

Panel 6
Medium shot of Reggie, thinking furiously. We can see bits of temple and swirling vapor in the background behind him.

Reggie: Clearly we're on Terra, somewhere in the Mediterranean region.

Reggie: So who are you supposed to be?

Panel 7
Medium close-up of Fiorella – from breasts to just above her eyes. A name-badge “sticker” has materialized on her left breast. (refer to the graphic in the short story doc).

No dialog.

Panel 8
Medium close-up of Reggie, his face lit up in an “aha” moment.

Reggie: Of course, that's it! Delphi!
