One Dollar Sale Continues!

$1 Books Plus Shipping!

Hard to believe it, but Big Head Press published it's first novel, over 20 years ago. To commemorate our stubborn longevity, we continue to stubbornly offer each of our non serialized graphic novel stories for just one mere American dollar (plus shipping). Start your holiday shopping early and light up some body's mind with one or more of these titles.

Offer only available in the United States.

Kickstarter Success!

The Not-Safe-Space 2 Kickstarter Campaign has ended successfully. Thanks to all who pledged!

Now we get to wait 2 weeks while Kickstarter transmits the funds, and Scott can order the books, and send surveys to backers to get current e-mail addresses for the .PDF versions and mailing addresses for the physical books.

All of this should show up in June.

The Transcript For This Page

Panel 1
Medium shot of Reggie and Babbette standing on the dock next to the boat. Reggie is waxing professorial, gesturing with his hands as he speaks.
Reggie: We can't use the wind, my love, because we are floating with the wind.
Reggie: We can't go upwind or tack or do anything but go where the wind goes, unless we can move relative to the wind.

Panel 2
Looking at the stern of the boat, from several meters away. Emphasis is on the two large propellers, currently still.
Reggie: That's what the big propellers are for.
Reggie: To sail like a boat on Terra, you'd need two media – air and water – with different relative motions.
Reggie: The mast is for rigging flexible solar-power sheets, which look a bit like sails.

Panel 3
Close 2-shot on Reggie and Babbette. Babbette is looking a bit downcast, and embarrassed. Reggie looks like he's reconsidering his words.
Babbette: Oh.

Panel 4
Reggie is now cajoling Babbette, a comforting hand laid on her shoulder, trying to jolly her up.
And she does start to brighten.
Reggie: I wondered about the same thing, the first time I saw a balloon ascension.
Babbette: Really?
Reggie (thought): Of course, I was only seven years old.
