The Transcript For This Page

PANEL ONE (upper half of page)

A banquet hall with a long, long table. Candleabra, chandeliers.
Well-dressed people applauding Anastasia who stands at the head of the
table in a beautiful _modern_ evening dress. In a tuxedo, a younger,
taller, thoroughly human Tarrant sits near the other end of the table,
visible, but serving as our viewpoint.

Narrative (Tarrant): 'Like many of her crew, I went into business and
prospered in the _laissez faire_ climate of the Moon.'

Narrative (Tarrant): 'She went into politics, becoming leader of the
Coordinated Arm.'

PANEL TWO (lower half of page)

Part of the righthand side of this panel is occupied by a smallish
celestial body -- the asteroid Ceres, perhaps -- with a gigantic
lighted sign that says something like 'CERES -- LAP 378'. Mainly, the
focus should be on a stream of small vessels -- including a number of
boomerang-shaped ones like Tarrant's _Kestrel_ -- following a long,
slowly curving path around and past the asteroid.

Let the racing path start straight in the lower lefthand corner of
the panel, then gradually start curving somewhere in the middle, and
wrap around the asteroid when the ships are almost too distant to see.

Narrative (Tarrant): 'I never married nor had children, but built and
raced spaceships, a favored pasttime in the Coordinated Arm.'

Narrative (Tarrant): 'As you have seen, their vessels operate on a
similar principle to ours, but it is employed somewhat differently.'
