PANEL ONE
Waist-up closeup of a 35-40ish looking man, slender, handsome,
blonde, with a dashing goatee and moustache. Arran Islay closely
resembles Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. and is wearing tattered evening wear,
a cummerbund -- and a pair of thrustibles. behind Arran, as a silhouette, the feminine form of
Bretta's mother, Loreanna, in more or less formal Hanoverian dress.
He's also carrying a two-handed, double-bitted axe.
Bretta (from out of panel): 'Daddy?'
Arran: 'I should have known.'
----------------------------------------------------------------------
PANEL TWO
Loreanna (nee Daimler-Wilkinson) Islay is quite small in stature,
possibly only five feet tall. She is very fair-skinned, but covered,
head to toe, with freckles, She has extremely curly auburn hair. Her
face is 'a map of Ireland'. She has more than ample breasts (also
covered with freckles), a tiny waist, and minimal but womanly hips
that belie the number of children she's borne.
My model for Loreanna has always been Sarah Miles, as she appeared
in _Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines_.
Here we see her in a dress only a little more modest than those of
the women on Hanover. In better light, the extreme top edges of her
areolae would be visible. She has her hair pulled back roughly and
tied off, out of the way. She wears a thrustible on her right arm, and
has an extremely large kitchen knife in her left hand.
Loreanna: 'I'm here, too, sweetheart.'
Loreanna: 'I expected we'd be seeing you sooner or later.'
----------------------------------------------------------------------
PANEL THREE
Loreanna from the back as she and Bretta embrace each other
tightly. Bretta is a taller than both of her parents. We see her face,
her eyes squeezed shut, tears flowing freely.
This tender embrace is all the more endearing for the entanglement
of deadly weapons it involves.
Bretta: 'You were supposed to be down planetside. I believed I might
never see you again!'
----------------------------------------------------------------------
PANEL FOUR
Arran stands at one side of the females and puts his arms around
both of them.
Arran: 'You ought to know us better than that. I think they feared
to keep us down there.'
Arran: 'That fear is about to cost them their finest starship.'
----------------------------------------------------------------------
PANEL FIVE
Similar panel as #2, except that we see Bretta from the back as
she embraces her father. Arran is beaming.
Bretta: 'I do know you, Daddy. It's just that -- '
Arran: 'You still worry. So do we, My Little -- shall we get on with
the business at hand, then?'
