As _Kestrel_ pulls away, a terrible explosion wracks the Jendyne
ship, breaking the mast at the maindeck level, turning her sails to
tatters, and splitting her hull.

Narrative (Tarrant): 'So sue me.'

PANEL TWO (upper righthand quarter of page)

_Kestrel_ heads directly toward us. Behind it, the dead wreckage
of the ship he's just destroyed. A couple of steam launches are
circling it like flies.

Narrative (Tarrant): 'Captain Echeverria-Estrella had given me one of
his 'toledos' -- and helped me retrofit _Kestrel_ to use it.'

PANEL THREE (lower half of page)

Show _Resplendent Quetzal_, _Sweek Lestvoh_, and _Laploma
D'Wherra_ locked in combat with the two Jendyne warships. Smoke and
debris fly everywhere, with the Jendynes soaking up most of the
damage.

Narrative (Tarrant): 'By that time, the battle was well and truly
engaged, and the poorly-drilled enemy weren't doing very well.'

Narrative (Tarrant): 'I wondered where Bretta was. Call me
old-fashioned, this was no place for women -- even Amazons -- and
horses.'
