PANEL ONE

Roughly the same as previous panel except that Dangerous Pat,
Krumm's middle-aged female second officer, now stands at the back with
Demondion-Echeverria, holding a big woven bushel basket in her arms.

Krumm: 'You will serve _Resplendent Quetzal_, and _drill_ -- weapons
and battle maneuver -- until you find yourselves performing your
assigned tasks in your dreams.'

PANEL TWO

Similar panel, except that Krumm has raised a finger to make a
point. The heads of the crew can be seen in most of these panels.

Krumm: 'Understand that we are but a single vessel against a fleet
that includes the mightiest warship ever built.'

PANEL THREE

Krumm leans over with his big hands on the rail and his elbows as
high as his head. To one side, remember the figure with the big woven
bushel basket in her arms.

Krumm: 'Our one advantage -- the only advantage we've ever had over
Johnny Jendyne -- is the discipline we shall forge on our outward
journey.'

PANEL FOUR

Two-shot (with Demondion-Echeverria in the background): Krumm and
Dangerous Pat. We can now see that Dangerous Pat's basket is full of
handmade loaves of bread.

Krumm: 'Once upon a time, it was my custom to read the ship's articles
-- which you have already read and made your mark upon -- violation
of any one of which was death upon the #-field.'



PANEL FIVE (upper lefthand quarter of page)

Krumm takes a loaf from Dangerous Pat's basket.

Krumm: Those days are done. You are all volunteers, not a pressganged
slave among you, and this is a thing to be desired. Your good behavior
I take for granted -- unless otherwise persuaded.'

PANEL SIX (upper righthand quarter of page)

Cut to a shot downward from the mizzentier.

Krumm: 'Therefore, the following demonstration concerns only the
safety of ship and crew, especially any newbies among you. Dangerous
Pat, if you please?'
