Kickstarter Success!
The Not-Safe-Space 2 Kickstarter Campaign has ended successfully. Thanks to all who pledged!
Now we get to wait 2 weeks while Kickstarter transmits the funds, and Scott can order the books, and send surveys to backers to get current e-mail addresses for the .PDF versions and mailing addresses for the physical books.
All of this should show up in June.
The Transcript For This Page
Strip 20
Panel 1
Larger panel, the golf cart has emerged from a tunnel into a large are that looks something like an indoor shopping mall. Traffic is much slower as conveyances and pedestrians mix in a chaotic pattern.
Babbette: We’re almost there.
Panel 2
Focus on Guy and Fiorella looking out to one side. They see a shop with the sign, 'Uncle Don’s Casino and Bar'
Guy: Hmph.
Panel 3
They look to the other side. They pass a storefront with the sign: 'Custom Tailoring for Well-Armed Ladies and Gentlemen.'
Guy: That can’t be right! Guns are illegal throughout the United World.
Panel 4
The cart pulls up in front of an airlock with a large sign:
Water Bros. Ice Mining, Boarding House and Café.
Bert & Ernie Guzmán, Proprietors
Proud Sponsors of the 'Ice Hammers' Surface Hockey Team
And the 'Brothers in Arms' CDPA Shooting Squad.
(We’ll get to see the sign up close in the next strip, so if detail is lost or sign is partly obscured that’s okay)
Babbette: Here we are, folks.
Panel 5
Guy and Fiorella have disembarked from the cart, and Guy is handing Babbette a bank note. She’s looking at it quizzically.
Panel 6
Close-up of the note in Babbette’s hands. It’s a United World Continental, which looks a bit like our Five Dollar Bill – except that in place of FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE it reads UNITED WORLD BANK NOTE, in place of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA it reads UNITED WORLD, in place of FIVE DOLLARS it reads ONE CONTINENTAL and the portrait is of Dag Hammarskjold, an early UN Secretary-General. Put a bar-code on it somewhere.
Babbette (from off-panel): *sigh*
Panel 7
Babbette begins driving away, her eyes rolled up in a resigned expression. Guy in the background smiles and waves.
Babbette: Thank you.
