Ed has withdrawn his hand, now has both thumbs hooked in his belt, striking a John-Waynesque pose. Chang still stands stiffly.
Ed: If these men and women want to follow your orders, well, I guess that's their right.
Ed: However, I think you're making a mistake in keeping them segregated from us.

Two-shot of Ed and Chang, focus is on Chang reacting in surprise to Ed's words.
Ed: Knowing us and our culture will be very useful after you … conquer us.
Chang: Conquer …!

Ed waves a hand dismissively, cutting Chang off.
