The Transcript For This Page

Panel 1
Ed and Chang continue their discussion at the outdoor cafe table. Ed is now leaning forward on his elbows and speaking intently to Chang.
Ed: As to your abused UW visitors ...
Ed: Earlier in the year we had a problem with a mugger, who hung around the spaceport and jumped people traveling alone.
Panel 2
Looking over Ed's shoulder at Chang, who is sipping a drink but looking intently back at Ed.
Ed: The mugger would hit a couple of victims and then disappear for weeks at a time, then come back and hit again.
Ed: I don't have a victim list but, to be honest, some of those victims likely were UW citizens.

Panel 3
Medium c/u on Ed, about to take a drink himself.
Ed: Finally the Merchant's association put out a reward for stopping the mugger.
Ed: About five days later a kid – a 15-year-old native Belter kid! – caught him in the act, stopped him, and the mugger beat it back to his home – on Mars.
Panel 4
Chang looks at Ed somewhat incredulously. Ed sips his drink.
Chang: A 15-year-old kid beat a mugger?
Ed: Not beat, just stopped.
