Strip 721 -- First Seen: 2011-06-09
Escape From Terra is updated with new pages every Monday through Friday.
Kickstarter Success!
The Not-Safe-Space 2 Kickstarter Campaign has ended successfully. Thanks to all who pledged!
Now we get to wait 2 weeks while Kickstarter transmits the funds, and Scott can order the books, and send surveys to backers to get current e-mail addresses for the .PDF versions and mailing addresses for the physical books.
All of this should show up in June.
The Transcript For This Page
Panel 1
This strip provides some background on the Space Scouts and the Water Brothers Crew.
First panel will feature the Space Scouts logo, with a background of radiating lines.
Caption: The Space Scouts organization was held in high esteem by Belters because it taught Scouts to be self-reliant and ethically strong. The ZAP – the Zero Aggression Principle – had a lot to do with that.
Panel 2
Flash-back panel, to the Guzmán brothers riding their improvised 'rock-rocket' from Ida to Dactyl.
Caption: After their experience at Ida and Dactyl, Bert and Ernie realized that the Space Scouts literally saved their lives.
Caption: Without their training and the practical knowledge contained in the Space Scout Handbook, their 'leap of faith' would not have been possible.
Panel 3
Wide panel filled with little vignettes, being the Space Scouts logo and head-shots of various people.
Vignette 1: Head-shots of Bert and Ernie with a Water Brothers Crew logo (modified from the Space Scouts logo, to be provided) in between them.
Caption 1: The boys decided to sponsor a Space Scout 'crew,' thus the Water Brothers Crew was born.
Vignette 2: Head-shots of Robyn, Libby, Emily. Libby looks really excited while the other two simply look pleased.
Caption 2: Libby was an enthusiastic first recruit and brought in her best buddies, Robyn and Emily.
Vignette 3: Smaller versions of the Robyn, Libby and Emily head-shots, joined with head-shots of five teen-aged boys at the same size.
Caption 3: Several boys joined when they learned the three girls had joined.
Vignette 4: 23 tiny heads clustered together – details will be minimal, but try to indicate 11 girls and 12 boys.
Caption 4 (placed above Vignette 4): Of course, that brought in more boys and girls.
Caption 5 (placed below Vignette 4): In no time, Bert and Ernie had 23 Space Scouts in their crew – 11 girls, 12 boys, in ages ranging from 11 to 19.
