1. EXT. THE ISLAND OF ITHACA – DAY. AERIAL ESTABLISHING SHOT: a lush, green island surrounded by a vast expanse of pure blue ocean and sky. At one end of the island is a small city on a harbor, but the harbor is overflowing with hundreds of large ships, of the sorts noblemen and warlords would have, suggesting the island's apparent peace is illusory.

2. EXT. IN THE CITY – DAY. TELEMACHUS, Odysseus' son, now 20 years old but still not fully filled in physically though he resembles a less wild and more slender cleanshaven version of his father, walks through the city streets. They're filthy, the gutters filled with refuse like broken beer cups, piss stains and fly encrusted shit. He glances askance, not really looking, at MEN – armed soldiers, in good shape, though they're obviously not of the same army, and the scene resembles shore leave more than an occupation – molesting ITHACAN WOMEN on the streets, and it pisses him off. (Some of the women look displeased but also don't much resist, some seem pleased.) He seems to be restraining himself from doing something about it.
No dialogue.
3. Behind Telemachus' back, a SOLDIER, apparently offended by him, roughly yells a challenge at him and roughly shoves away the half-naked woman he was just dallying with, much to her fury. Under his cloak and out of view of the soldier, Telemachus tentatively fingers a dagger. Actually, all we need to see of Telemachus is him fingering the dagger but not really grasping it, and that should be enough to suggest both his hesitance and willingness; his body language should suggest again that using it is a really, really strong temptation that he's fighting.

4. The soldier is eased away by a drunken FELLOW SOLDIER, who's smirking derisively about Telemachus. The first soldier is still annoyed but already forgetting about the incident as they wander off. Telemachus sort of snarls over his shoulder at them.
FELLOW SOLDIER 4
Now, now, you know what the prince is like. If you take him, he'll expect you to marry him.
SOLDIER 5
I wish someone would get married.
SOLDIER 6
How long has Eurymachus kept us on this stinking island?
