The Transcript For This Page

PANEL ONE (upper lefthand quarter of page)

Narrative (Tarrant): 'Bretta would head downsystem to _Sweek Lestvoh_,
with Kombi along to 'hold the horses'.'

Bretta (spacesuit) and Kombi, their backs to us, head sunward,
toward the big-mooned planet. They could even be silhouetted against
the sun.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

PANEL TWO (upper righthand quarter of page)

Switcharound. _Kestrel_ in the foreground, headed toward us, away
from _Resplendent Quetzal_ in the background (which we see
stern-first).

Narrative (Tarrant): 'I was to follow discreetly, ready to provide a
distraction -- and a target for _Sweek Lestvoh_'s projecteurs -- while
Bretta performed what she called the most repulsive act of her young
life.'

Narrative (Tarrant): 'Lia was going to _owe_ her after this.'

----------------------------------------------------------------------

PANEL THREE (lower lefthand quarter of page)

Krumm and Demondion-Echeverria, seen from behind, looking over
_Resplendent Quetzal_'s taffrail in the foreground, _Sweek Lestvoh_ in
the background, apparently lying on her side. In all of these
pictures, the Jendyne vessel has her mast pointed directly away from
the sun and her stern turned toward it.

Narrative (Tarrant): '_Resplendent Quetzal_ would arrive after Bretta
and I had done our grisly work ... '

----------------------------------------------------------------------

PANEL FOUR (lower right quarter of page)

In the foreground, set off a little to one side, _Resplendent
Quetzal_. Perhaps a thousand yards behind her, and a little off to the
other side, _Laploma D'Wherra_.

Narrative (Tarrant): 'Then Captain Echeverria-Estrella's _Laploma
D'Wherra_ would show up and the two ships would proceed to the navy
shipyard on Sibola's gigantic moon.'

Narrative (Tarrant): 'That was the Baker's plan, anyway.'
