PANEL ONE (upper lefthand quarter of page)

Demondion-Echeverria indicates the tall table and lack chairs in
Lia's conference room with a sweep of his hand.

Demondion-Echeverria: 'Is that where you got the idea for this
arrangement?'

Lia: 'It's said Halliwater has dissenters tortured until they change
their view -- then killed quickly so they may not recant, but die,
instead, in a state of grace.'

PANEL TWO (upper righthand quarter of page)

Three-shot, Krumm, Tarrant, Lia.

Krumm: 'How bloody kind of him. Where have I heard all this before?'

Tarrant (looking a little like Groucho): 'Nobody ever expects the
Jendyne Inquisition.'

Lia: 'What?'

Tarrant: 'Nothing, Madame Ceo, pray continue.'

PANEL THREE (lower lefthand quarter of page)

Closeup on Demondion-Echeverria.

Lia: 'Mr. Ambassador?'

Demondion-Echeverria: 'Halliwater knows of Earth. He hesitates to move
against it because he knows the Arm is ready. Each man, woman, child,
has a thrustible and knows how to use it.'

PANEL FOUR (lower right quarter of page)

In a 'time lapse' sequence of overlapping outlines, Tarrant, whom
we see from the rear, draws a pistol from the small of his back,
raises it until his arm points upward at a 45 degree angle, and twirls
it around his trigger finger.

The pistol can be seen fairly well as it twirls in a set of
concentric circles. Just for fun, make it look like Darkwing Duck's
gas gun.

Tarrant: 'Pistols they're called -- force projectors -- but the basic
principle is the same.'
